If you’re suffering from low back pain, one possible problem is lumbar facet syndrome.
The vertebrae in your spine are connected to one another through facet joints. When these facet joints become inflamed or become arthritic, they can pinch nerves and you can experience low back pain.
To treat facet syndrome, you want to do exercises which emphasize flexion of the spine (bending forward), extension exercises will increase the pain because it jams the facets.
