I just recently had an MRI done on my lumbar region for severe lower back pain that radiates down right leg into foot. Pain is accompanied with numbness and tingling in legs, as well as weakness. I am somewhat able to read this MRI, and have read the radiologists report, however I feel that they didn’t fully look into this or somewhat misdiagnosed my situation. Their summary was mild discogenic disease at L4-L5 and L5-S1 without evidence of neural foraminal narrowing or stenosis and that there appears to be slight bulging of the discs with annular tears. However, they didn’t see that any of the exiting nerves were compressed, which doesn’t explain the symptoms in my leg(s)… I feel this is wrong as in some views it appears that they ARE contacted. I would greatly appreciate some extra insight. The only reason I am doing this is that I am in the military and our medical staff is highly incompetent and lazy. I have been begging for a second opinion and have thus far been unable to get one, let alone referred to a specialist. Thanks!
