Cervical facet syndrome arises from injuries (i.e., whiplash, neck sprains) of the joints in the neck (cervical zygapophyseal joints). Each of the Facets or joints in the cervical spine refers pain to specific areas in the head, neck, and shoulders.These reference zones are common areas where perceived pain in the head, neck, and shoulders in patients suffering from whiplash, cervical sprain syndromes, head and neck trauma.
